Insomniax Top 5 Producers To Watch in 2016

Insomniax is a collaboration of two producers, Renzo (Damien Fellows) and Freshold (Oliver Millin) hailing from the South West, UK. Renzo and Freshold have both been devoted to making dance music since the early rave days of the 90s.

After getting their tunes into the hands of Viper Recordings boss Futurebound, the duo were signed to the label in 2014 and made their debut on the prestigious Headroom EP series with the track ‘Digital Murder’. Following their Viper debut, they released two tracks ‘Can’t Resist’ and ‘Over Again VIP’ which were featured on Viper’s Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2014 album, along with an exclusive DJ mix by Insomniax. The duo then went on to work with Viper Recordings artists, Six Blade, to produce ‘Contact’ which was released on Viper’s 10 year anniversary album, ‘Decade’.

Now fresh off the back of their latest track ‘Lunar Dub’ which was featured on Viper’s Drum & Bass Annual 2016 album, Insomniax come with their debut single on Viper VIP with ‘Uridium / Longest Night’.

We caught up with Insomniax to hear their top 5 producers to watch in 2016, and why…

1. Mob Tactics

Always loved all of Mob T’s tracks so we were really happy when they signed to Viper last year. Theyve already put some belters out on the label and we can guaruntee there will be more of that on the way! We did a colab with the guys fairly recently so watch out for that in the near future šŸ™‚

2. B-Motion

Another Viper artist, we’ve got a good feeling about Ben’s tracks, a few blew up in 2015 and we think hes only gona get better and write even bigger tracks

3. Sam Binga

Critical’s rudeboy has a unique way of mashing jungle, dancehall and grime-related genres and he just seems to get better and better at it, love all the tracks he does with Redders and the album was great

4. Aggressor Bunx

Has been releasing for a couple of years on various tech labels but over the last year his production has been awesome and a couple of his tracks are in every set we play at the moment.

5. Technimatic

If you like your DnB a bit more like the soulful grooves of calibre and ivy lab, these guys have obviously already made quite a big impact on Shogun but its only gonna get bigger and better from them in 2016
