“It is so hard to decide which 5 tunes could win a place in my Top 5! There are so many of them that influenced and had so many different effects on me throughout the years! That’s a difficult one! Anyway, I picked 5 tunes that maybe are not that big and famous in the jungle scene, at least not all of them, but they have definitely shaped me as a listener and later as a producer! ”

1. Skanna – All You Wanted
I literally have no words about this piece of art. I’ve been listening to this tune since it was released back in 1994 and it still gives me the goosebumps, after 23 years. It always will. Foundation sound.

2. Foul Play – Being With You
This is what I call proper Jungle. Timeless. This tune certainly was well ahead of it’s time, so futuristic. At the moment you press the play button you find yourself lost in a deep jungle forest. Lush ambience. Foul Play have been very influential producers not only for me but I think for the whole dance music scene throughout the last decades. Moving Shadow’s finest.

3. Warped Core – The Power
The grey area between Breakbeat and Jungle. Dark and deadly. And these hoovers, oh gosh, these hoovers!!! One of the tunes that made me fall in love with the amen drums. Bizzy B who is behind Warped Core is definitely one of my favourite Jungle producers of all time.

4. Dead Dred – Dread Bass
Groundbreaking tune. That bass line has been fundamental in Jungle, one of the most used bass sounds in the history of this music. These sweet synths in the intro always give me the chills. Wicked time-stretched vocals and clever drum edits. True gem. The producers behind Dead Dred are Asend and Ultravibe who used to be among my favourite ones back then. What the time you have fi dread? Many years after I listened to this tune, I found out that the time was 12 o’clock.

5. Rude & Deadly – Mash Dem Down
Three words you can listen in the tune describe it perfectly. Earthquake, Lightning and Thunder. I love the recipe, smooth dubby intro, ragga vocals, dub sirens, amen drums and reece basslines. That “Give me a dubplate” sample spins in my head since I listened to this tune for the first time. Absolute classic.
